Rider Alert: Detour at Upper Sims Way and Thomas Street, June 29, 2017, 8:30-11:00am

Sims Way Detour:
Sims Way and Thomas St. Roundabout

Jefferson County PUD will be installing at Street light at the Sims Way and Thomas Street roundabout on
June 29, 2017, 8:30 am to 11:00 am.

Jefferson Transit will not have access to the bus stop at Jiffy Lube and Sims Way.
To board or de-board the bus on Upper Sims Way heading toward Downtown riders will need to use the adjacent bus stops located at Sims Way & Les Schwab , or Sims Way and Hendricks Street.



Rider Alert: UPDATE; #8 Sequim Route Detour June 19th – 25th, 2017

Jefferson Transit will resume normal routing and schedule for the #8 Sequim Route on Hwy 20, with no detours, June 26, 2017.

Rider Alert: #8 Sequim Route; Highway 101 Jamestown S’klallam Road Construction June-October, 2017

Jefferson Transit #8 Sequim Route

Please be advised road construction on Hwy 101 at Chicken Coop and Zaccardo road intersections may cause delays. Connecting transit agencies will hold whenever possible for transferring passengers but some connections may be missed.

Jamestown S’Klallam in partnership with WSDOT and Clallam County, road
construction is scheduled to begin June 26, 2017 through October, 2017.

DESCRIPTION: Reducing two existing, closely spaced intersections at Chicken Coop Road and Zaccardo Road intersections at Highway 101 milepost 271.59 into one intersection.

EXPECT: Late June or early July Highway 101 will be flagger-controlled, one-lane, one-way traffic in the evenings.

The Jefferson Transit Authority (JTA) Board will be holding Public Hearings during the regular Board meetings on Tuesday, June 27, 2016, at 1:30 pm, and Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in the Jefferson Transit Authority Boardroom located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend WA.

The purpose of the Public Hearings is to obtain public comment on the adoption of JTA’s 2017-2022 Transit Development Plan (TDP) and JTA’s 6-year State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). These documents address long and short-range priorities, capital improvements, planned significant operating changes, program funding sources, and provide a summary of 2016 Jefferson Transit operations.

A draft document is available for public review after during normal office hours at Jefferson Transit’s maintenance and administration building at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368, or online at www.jeffersontransit.com under the drop down menu title “About JTA” and select “Transit Development Plan.”

Persons wishing to comment may do so by submitting oral testimony during the public hearings, or by submitting written comments to 63 4 Corners Road through August 15, 2017.
