Reduced Service Schedule Continues

Since March, Jefferson Transit has been actively engaged in taking precautions to limit employees and passengers from potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus.  Jefferson Transit understands riders are interested in knowing when regular service will resume.  Jefferson Transit continues to evaluate returning to regular service, for now, Jefferson Transit will continue operating on the reduced schedule that was implemented 3.30.2020 until further notice.

Mandatory Statewide Masking Directive

EFFECTIVE: Friday, June 26th, 2020 face covering required

On Friday, June 26th, 2020 a statewide mandatory face covering order issued by Governor Jay Inslee and the State Secretary of Health will become effective. Jefferson Transit will require wearing a face covering on all Jefferson Transit buses and properties. Exceptions for children and other individuals can be found in the Governor’s order.

Jefferson Transit thanks you for your support during these uncertain times.

PUBLIC NOTICE – Jefferson Transit Authority

Due to the COVID pandemic Jefferson Transit Authority (JTA) published the draft Transit Development Plan (TDP) on the JTA website. The Transit Development Plan addresses long and short-range priorities, capital improvements, planned significant operating changes, program funding sources, and provides a summary of 2019 Jefferson Transit operations.

The draft document is now available online for public review after at www.jeffersontransit.com under the drop-down menu titled “About JTA” and select
“Transit Development Plan.”

Jefferson Transit is requesting public comment on the TDP prior to the August 18, 2020 Regular Board Meeting. Persons wishing to comment may do so by submitting written comments via email to Jayme Brooke, Grants/Procurement Coordinator at jbrooke@jeffersontransit.com or oral comments via telephone @ 360.385.4777 x110. Written comments may also be submitted via U.S. Mail to Jayme Brooke, Grants/Procurement Coordinator, 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368.

A Public Hearing will be held during the August 18, 2020 Regular Board meeting. In order to respond to public comments, Jefferson Transit requests comments be submitted before August 1st, 2020.
