FACE COVERING REQUIRED

Effective June 1, 2020 Requirement to Wear Face Coverings

On May 28, 2020 Public Health Officer Tom Locke issued a masking directive requiring all individuals in Jefferson County to wear face coverings over their noses and mouths when they are at indoor and outdoor public locations and cannot maintain a 6-foot distance from others.  Jefferson Transit requires riders wear a face covering to help cut down on everyone’s potential exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus and to protect everyone who depends on our transit system for essential rides.

Face masks are not required for children under the age of 2; any child who is at least two and less than twelve years of age unless a parent or caregiver supervises the use of the cloth face ; individuals who are unable to remove face masks without assistance; individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and rely on facial and mouth movements for communication; and individuals who have been advised by a medical professional that wearing a face covering may pose a risk to their health.
