Kingston Express Service Route Implementation Postponed to Early 2022

Jefferson Transit Authority (JTA) will postpone the Kingston Express route until early 2022. This decision is due to community health concerns from the rising number of Covid cases and JTA staffing shortages.

JTA wants to ensure that the pilot route is implemented during a time that allows us to accurately measure the value of this service within the community. Thank you for your patience while we navigate these unprecedented times together.

Jefferson Transit is exploring the potential for a pilot bus route from Port Townsend, WA to the Kingston Ferry Terminal in Kingston, WA to make connections with the Washington State Ferry to Edmonds, WA and the Kitsap Fast Ferry to Seattle, WA. The following presentation was presented at the May 26, 2021 public service proposal meeting. The presentation will be available for review and public comment for the Pilot Kingston service will be open until July 31, 2021.
