Join JTA’s Vanpool Program – A Smarter, Greener Commute!

Looking for a way to reduce your commute costs and help the environment? Vanpooling could be the perfect solution for you! JTA’s Vanpool program offers an affordable and eco-friendly transportation option for groups of three or more people who share a similar commute.

By choosing to vanpool, you will reduce traffic congestion and lower emissions. Plus, you'll save on fuel, maintenance, insurance, parking costs, and wear and tear on your personal vehicle. Some employers even offer transportation subsidies, making vanpooling an even more cost-effective choice!

Vanpooling is a great way to save money, reduce your carbon footprint, and enjoy a more relaxed commute.

Ready to share a ride? Joining a vanpool easy! Here is what you need to start:

  • Group Formation: Form a vanpool group with 3-15 members. Choose group members who work, live, or commute near you.
  • Logistics: Designate a driver, backup driver, and bookkeeper. The driver coordinates the route, pickup locations, and schedule.
  • Commute: Your commute must start or end in Jefferson County.
  • Application Process: Once the group is established, the designated driver submits the Vanpool Online Application to get started.

WSDOT Ridesharing Program

JTA participates in an online ridesharing program which is managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation and is a great resource for commuting options in the Northwest. This service is independent of JTA.
