In accordance with Security Directive 1582/84-21-01 anyone over the age of two (2) must wear a mask that
covers the mouth and nose while riding Jefferson Transit buses or utilizing our facilities.
The following exemptions may apply:
- While communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing, when the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication.
- Individuals who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons. This directive clarifies that this exemption is extremely rare, and the inability
to wear a mask because it is difficult is not an acceptable exemption. The individual must have a condition which makes it dangerous
to wear a mask. (Under this directive individuals may be required to provide evidence including third party medical consultation,
medical documentation, and/or evidence that the person does not have COVID-19 such as a negative result from a SAR-CoV-2 viral
test or recovery documentation, when requesting an exemption to wear a mask.) - When necessary to temporarily remove the mask for identity verification purposes.
