Ride With Jefferson Transit to the Wooden Boat Festival!

Park free at the Haines place Park & Ride and ride for a $1.00 all-day fare to the Wooden Boat Festival on Friday, September 8, 2017 and Saturday, September 9, 2017.2017 wooden boat ad

Jefferson Transit shuttles will depart the Haines Place Park & Ride every 15 minutes beginning at 8:15 am Friday and 7:00 am Saturday. The last shuttle of the day will leave the Wooden Boat Festival stop on Monroe Street at 8:45 pm Friday and Saturday. Jefferson Transit does not operate on Sundays.

Jefferson Transit does not operate on Sundays.

An all day bus pass on Jefferson Transit is $1.00. Children under 7 ride free. Buses will depart approximately every 15 minutes during Festival hours between the Haines Place Park & Ride and the Northwest Maritime Center. Overflow parking is available at Boat Haven. The NW Maritime Center is approximately 2 Miles from either parking Area.

  • Only the Festival Shuttle will stop in the Boat Haven and Park & Ride.
  • Regular Shuttles (#11 A/B) only stop at the Park & Ride.

The Jefferson Transit Authority (JTA) Board will be holding Public Hearings during the regular Board meetings on Tuesday, June 27, 2016, at 1:30 pm, and Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in the Jefferson Transit Authority Boardroom located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend WA.

The purpose of the Public Hearings is to obtain public comment on the adoption of JTA’s 2017-2022 Transit Development Plan (TDP) and JTA’s 6-year State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). These documents address long and short-range priorities, capital improvements, planned significant operating changes, program funding sources, and provide a summary of 2016 Jefferson Transit operations.

A draft document is available for public review after during normal office hours at Jefferson Transit’s maintenance and administration building at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368, or online at www.jeffersontransit.com under the drop down menu title “About JTA” and select “Transit Development Plan.”

Persons wishing to comment may do so by submitting oral testimony during the public hearings, or by submitting written comments to 63 4 Corners Road through August 15, 2017.

Rider Alert: #8 Sequim Route Detour June 19th – 26th, 2017

Update: Jefferson Transit will resume normal routing and schedule for the #8 Sequim Route on Hwy 20, with no detours, June 26, 2017.


Jefferson Transit’s Port Townsend to Sequim Service will detour Monday, June 19, 2017 through Monday, June 26, 2017 during the WSDOT construction project on State Route 20. Transit Service will detour from 4 Corners to Hwy 104 via Hwy 19 and onto Hwy 101, and back on route at Discovery Bay.
Refer to Jefferson Transit’s website at jeffersontransit.com for schedule time changes and detour routing. 
Please be advised time changes and traffic delays may affect passengers connecting to other routes.

Jefferson Transit is Recruiting for a Citizen Advisory Committee

The Jefferson Transit Authority is soliciting applications from individuals residing in Jefferson County, who are interested in serving on their advisory panel, the Citizen Advisory Committee. The Committee will consist of 7 to 15 members from throughout the service area representing seniors, youth, persons with disabilities, college students, business organizations, business owners, transit service users, vanpool users, social service agencies, the medical community, school districts, neighborhood associations, the Tribes, Transit Demand Management, and citizens-at-large. The Citizen Advisory Committee typically is comprised of a diverse representation of the County.

The Authority is seeking applications from public-spirited citizens who are willing to become involved, study the issues, and serve in an advisory capacity to Jefferson Transit’s governing board.

The Citizen Advisory Committee will meet quarterly, usually in the early evening, at Jefferson Transit’s Maintenance and Administration building located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend.
