NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – Jefferson Transit Authority

Jefferson Transit Authority will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed 2018-2023 Transit Development Plan (TDP) during the regular Authority Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Jefferson Transit Authority Boardroom, located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368.

This document addresses long and short-range priorities, capital improvements, planned significant operating changes, program funding sources, and provides a summary of 2017 Jefferson Transit operations.

A draft document is available for public review during regular office hours at Jefferson Transit’s Administrative Office located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend, WA 98368, or online at www.jeffersontransit.com under the drop-down menu titled “About JTA” and select “Transit Development Plan.”

This meeting is open to the public and comments are encouraged.  Persons wishing to comment may do so by submitting oral testimony during the Public Hearing, by submitting written comments to 63 4 Corners Road, or by phone at 360-385-4777 on or before August 21, 2018.

Southport Lane and Hwy 20 Northbound Service Change effective

Friday, February 16, 2018

Jefferson Transit intends to remove the northbound transit stop located at Southport Lane and

Highway 20 Thursday, February 15, 2018. Northbound transit service is available at the stop

located to the south at Malamute Road or to the north at Four Corners Transfer Center.

Jefferson Transit Authority (JTA) invites all residents to attend our Public Hearings to discuss proposed adjustments to existing service and proposed new service.

The Hearings will be held as follows:

¨ JTA Boardroom, 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend: Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 1:30 pm. This meeting also includes a 2018 Budget Hearing

¨ Port Townsend – Fire Station 16, 701 Harrison Street, Port Townsend: Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:00 am.

¨ Tri-Area – Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave, Port Hadlock: Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 5:30 pm

This Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will hold it’s first meeting on August 7, 2019.

Jefferson Transit is Recruiting for a Citizen Advisory Committee

The Jefferson Transit Authority is soliciting applications from individuals residing in Jefferson County, who are interested in serving on their advisory panel, the Citizen Advisory Committee. The Committee will consist of 7 to 15 members from throughout the service area representing seniors, youth, persons with disabilities, college students, business organizations, business owners, transit service users, vanpool users, social service agencies, the medical community, school districts, neighborhood associations, the Tribes, Transit Demand Management, and citizens-at-large. The Citizen Advisory Committee typically is comprised of a diverse representation of the County.

The Authority is seeking applications from public-spirited citizens who are willing to become involved, study the issues, and serve in an advisory capacity to Jefferson Transit’s governing board.

The Citizen Advisory Committee will meet quarterly, usually in the early evening, at Jefferson Transit’s Maintenance and Administration building located at 63 4 Corners Road, Port Townsend.
